Latkes Recipe



  • 2 Pounds russet potatoes.
  • 1 Small yeloow onion.
  • ½ Cup of flour.
  • 1 Egg lightly beaten.

  • 2 Teaspoons salt.
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives or parsley.
  • Sour cream for serving.
  • Vegetable oil for frying.


  • Peal the potatoes and shred (better with a food processor), transfer the potatoes to a large bowl.
  • Shred the onions, transfer to the bowl with the potatoes.
  • Stir the matzo meal, egg, baking powder and salt.
